About your guide – Paula Hindle

Hi, I’m Paula – a holistic physiotherapist, strength trainer, and women’s wellness coach.

I’ve spent more than 20 years supporting women through the biggest transitions of their lives – pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, grief, burnout, and everything in between.

And I’ve been through my own share of life’s curveballs too.

I was widowed when my kids were very young, and I’ve moved through deep grief, health challenges, and hormonal changes of my own to create the vibrant life I live today. 

So when I talk about rebuilding strength from the inside out, I’m not speaking from theory – I’ve lived it.

I created Learn to Lift because I know how hard it can be to feel strong and steady in a changing body – especially when most fitness advice doesn’t speak to where you are in life. 

This program brings together everything I’ve learned (and used) to help hundreds of women feel grounded, capable, and deeply supported in their own skin again.

I hold a Bachelor of Exercise Science and a Masters of Physiotherapy. I’m also a qualified yoga teacher and integrative health coach. I’ve worked in hospitals, private practice, and now as a key part of the team at Vera Wellness in the Samford Valley.

I’m also the founder of Unlock Potential, an online wellness platform I co-created with Olympian Libby Trickett.

But most of all, I’m a mum to two amazing teenagers, and someone who truly believes that vibrant health is your birthright – no matter what age or stage you’re in.

Your questions, answered:

Do I need to be fit or strong already to join?

Not at all. This program is designed to meet you exactly where you are.

Whether you’re completely new to strength training or returning after a break, I’ll guide you step-by-step. You can modify exercises and go at your own pace – there’s zero pressure to “keep up.”

What if I’m not sure I can stick to the schedule?

That’s okay – this isn’t an all-or-nothing plan.

Most women train 2–3 times per week, but it’s completely flexible and designed to work with your life, not against it. Even one or two sessions a week can make a difference, and you’ll still feel supported the whole way through.

What if I fall behind or miss a week?

That’s totally normal – and absolutely okay.

This program isn’t about perfection. It’s about building consistency with care. You’ll have access to the full program through the FITR app, so you can pause, come back, and keep going when it works for you. You can also repeat the program again if you want to follow along with the next cohort.

I’ve never lifted weights before… Is this going to be too hard?

Not at all. This program was created specifically for women who are newer to strength training, or returning after a long break. 

You’ll learn proper form, build confidence gradually, and feel supported through every phase. No one’s pushing you to max out — we’re building strength that lasts.

How long are the workouts?

Most sessions are between 10–60 minutes, depending on your energy, time, and what your body needs that day. 

The app we use gives you the flexibility to choose the right length and type of movement – strength, mobility, yoga, or rest.

What equipment do I need?

Just a pair of dumbbells (or kettlebells) and a mat. If you have access to more, great – but it’s not required. I’ll show you how to get results with simple tools at home or in a gym.

Do I need to download anything?

Yes – you’ll receive easy instructions to download the FITR app, where all your workouts, journaling prompts, and movement resources will live. It’s simple to use and keeps everything in one place.

Will I have support or be doing this on my own?

Yes, you’ll be supported the entire way. You’ll be moving through the 8-week program with a group of women who are also going through the same midlife challenges and you’ll get access to the Learn to Lift Private Facebook Group. This is a private online group where I check in weekly, answer questions, and where other women are showing up just like you. It’s a safe, encouraging space.

What if I’ve ‘failed’ at fitness programs before?

You haven’t failed – those programs just weren’t made for this version of you. 

Learn to Lift is different. It’s built with compassion, flexibility, and the wisdom of working with hundreds of women through real life. You don’t need to be perfect, you just need to begin.
